The necessity of ventilation in livestock and poultry houses
To achieve the best production performance of live poultry, 5 key elements are needed.
1) maintain a good hygienic level and a comfortable environment
2) sufficient feed and good quality feed
3) good water quality
4) sufficient oxygen
5) proper and stable temperature
Temperature is particularly important, which is directly related to the comfortable environment of live poultry and the conversion rate of feed (meat to material ratio). In a chicken house, for example, in a comfortable environment, the energy of 60%-70% is converted into output, and 30%-40% is used to maintain life; but in a bad environment, the energy of the 30%-40% is converted to output, and 60%-70% is used to maintain life.
